Users don't form relationships with bots. The moment a bot handles a crisis, the community learns: this team won't meet us.

When we diagnose community operations, we ask:

  • What % of operator time goes to repetitive work?
  • How long until a 3 a.m. or weekend question gets answered?
  • Is there a structure measuring the room's temperature?
  • Does the automation boundary exist in writing?
  • Is operator time reserved for relationships and leader development?

The point

The purpose of community automation is not to reduce people. It's to return people to people's work.

While agents absorb the patterns, humans build the trust.

And a community's value is ultimately decided not by throughput, but by the total stock of trust.
